“ I went to the location on South Academy several times when it first opened a few years ago... since then prices increased drastically and portions got much smaller. I tried this location tonight, 15.00 for some carne asada fries seems excessive... until they hand you the 3 pound container. I have NEVER liked carne asada.. I always pick carnitas.. Im so glad I picked the carne asada fries today. HOLY CRAP!!! Best carne asada Ive EVERRR had. no fat, just tender cuts of meat. Loads and loads of meat and I slathered it in their amazing green sauce, of course with all the other toppings it comes with. I would 100 come back here and order again. ”
“ After noticing the rave reviews about Tacos Del Gordo, my wife and I knew this had to be our next stop when we were craving Mexican food. Well Tacos Del Gordo fit the bill as we were famished after doing lots of weekend manual work. We ordered a lot to try it all out. The order was as follows 1 Carne Asada Plate, 1 Carne Asada Fries, 2 Grilled Chicken Tacos, 3 Quesabirria Tacos 1 Extra Flour Tortilla Full disclosure my wife is very picky on the toppings of either fries or nachos. As a result, we only had carne asada and cheese with the fries. They didnt skimp on the meat which is a general theme youll see. We shared this entree and couldnt even finish 12 of it. One order is plenty for a family let alone 2 people. My wife enjoyed her carne asada plate especially the tortilla that completed the fixings rice beans specifically nicely. I thoroughly enjoyed the Quesabirria tacos. The consome that comes with the tacos was a great dipping addition and very flavorful. The diced onions, cilantro limes on the side were plentiful to say the least. My favorite entree though was the chicken tacos. They stuff as much grilled chicken as humanly possible on these thin corn tortillas. The flavor the grilled chicken had was elevated for sure. The wellseasoned chicken had a nice soft texture to combine with the gooey cheese and corn tortilla. The flour tortilla is massive and tastes amazing. Not too starchy and not too greasy it was just right. Overall the vibe inside is nice and is very clean. The attention to cleanliness was definitely on display. For 46, I cant complain on how flavorful, juicy and tasty these options were. Seeing how close it is to us, this wont be our last time we stop by. ”

“ Tacos el gordo is the best Mexican restaurant Ive been to in the springs! Im from East Los Angeles, and I know authentic food from the taste of the rice texture of the beans sweetness of the horchata heat and taste of the salsa Roja and Verde to the best carne asada fries Ive had in a while! Try the konga burrito and add some cheese and choice of meat for a huge burrito for about 10 bucks! Try the Buche on some nachos, try the horchata extra ice, and my favorite the carne asada fries! The restaurant staff was super friendly, bilingual, and welcoming. Everything was clean, and service was fast a day accurate. Ive eaten here before, but I decided to review this place for my 10 million Google Views celebration. “ 1st time I have tried them. Got some carne asada tacos and a fish taco. Everything tasted excellent and lettuce, cabbage, etc was fresh. Tried red and green sauces and they were very good. I think best mixed together! Looking forward to trying their breakfast burritos ! Very friendly staff as well. ”
“ The food here is amazing! Me and my mum ordered Lenguabeef tongue,fish and birria tacos. I am a super fan of Lengua tacos but not every Mexican restaurant has it so I have to give it a try. The lengua tacos are surprisingly good! The meat is so tender and rich in flavors. I can say that its one of the best lengua tacos I have tried! They also have a self serving bar with 3 hot sauces and some cucumbers,pickled carrot and lime if you need more. Plus they have good drinks as well. I love Jamaica drink and theirs is so good! It was not too sweet but the flavor was there! My husband said the horchata is good too but Im not a big fan of it. The staff is friendly and atmosphere is nice Remember to dine in because if you living far its not as good as its fresh came out. ”
“ We first tried tacos del gordo at their truck in woodland park. We lived in Mexico City for two years and have not found tacos that fulfill our cravings like these. More expensive han other Mexican places, but they make up for it in quality and portions. I think Ill have dinner for about a week ”
